The article presents an analysis of the media's role in the society from a critical thinking basis. The author focus of the involvement of philosophers and educators in the development of this movement, which encourage human curiosity, and the cultivation of the mind. The media is the main source of information today; however, it tends to communicate it in a distorted and unreliable way, which leads to conformity instead of promoting intellectual independence. Thus, the media literacy interest seek to promote the critical thinking in the education system.
